Content Writing Outsourcing: 6 Steps for Better Quality

Content writing has become a hot topic, especially after the aggressive attacks of Google Panda.  Many articles urge you to offer fresh and engaging content in order to attract and retain your users. They have right but what is important about content is context, relevancy and structure.

The content and its style have to comply with the topic you have chosen, the business you are in and the audience you are targeting. If you write about your own business, you can allow yourself some liberties (but that’s the topic of another blog post). However, if you write for customers, the situation changes considerably.

It is not easy to write for someone else and match their expectations not only in terms of quality but also in terms of style, word use and tone of the text. In order to do that successfully, you have to follow some simple rules that may get in your way during the process.

1. Never recycle

Usually, when in a certain industry, companies are aware of their market and their competition. Do not underestimate that with offering them stale and recycled content that nobody needs and reads.

Always write your articles from scratch and do your best to be up-to-date and relevant to the current situation of your client’s industry.

2. Make a plan

Be sure to make a plan before you start writing. You should know what you are going to be writing about and in what sequence in order to create a cohesive text.

3. Make a schedule

When writing for article, be sure to make a schedule beforehand so you have enough time to brainstorm, research, compose, proofread and edit.

4. Use the feedback

The feedback from the client is extremely important and you should use it – it is for your benefit. Listen to what they want and how they want it and do your best to stick to it. Do not take any criticism personally, remember that your clients want the best content and so do you. You are aiming at the same objective and working together is the best way to achieve it.

5. Forget your ego

As a writer, no matter experienced or not, every piece of writing you create will seem to you precious and valuable. And it is. However, you should always remind yourself that you are writing for someone else and they should be happy with the final result more than you. Forget your ego and stick to the style and guidelines you receive and your clients will appreciate that.

6. Proofread and edit, edit, edit

This is vital for every text you produce. Everyone is prone to make mistakes and to overlook them. Read carefully for any type of mistake and do not be afraid to edit your text.
